Innocence
InsideOut's influences show clearly on this, their debut disc. A Boyz Nite Out arrangement of "Crazy" is carried well, and "Ellie My Love" (a la Rockapella) is done respectably true to the version a cappella-heads are most familiar with. The group has a nice vocal band sound, with some solid vocal percussion grooves and a warm, rich sound. It's always nice to see a group do an unusual cover, and the sextet's section of Depeche Mode's "Somebody" is wonderful. The group is also obviously comfortable with soft ballads; original "Park Bench" is sweet. |
